New Film on Amazon’s Instant Video Service, Dearly Departed Offers Wisdom, Inspiration From The Afterlife

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 19, 2013

Dearly Departed, a remarkable film that is helping bring calm to the subject of death and dying and being called a good NDE 101 by near death experience professionals has recently been added to Amazons Instant Video service for both streaming video rental and purchase.

A true labor of love, passion and heart, Dearly Departed is a fictional documentary, shot as though the camera was taken into the afterlife. It is a compelling, unique and universally appealing 84 minute film, which is a breath of fresh air for anyone with fears or misgivings about dying or has concerns about friends or loved ones who have passed.

In the spirit of calming these concerns, Woodland Hills, CA based filmmakers Darryl Anka and Erica Jordan had a vision to demonstrate the peace, certainty and even joy of life after death in their new film.

We felt very strongly about making a film that could help people feel more comfortable about death and in turn allow them to enjoy their lives even more, says the films Director Darryl Anka, a thirty year Entertainment industry veteran. We continue to hear from both counselling/grief specialists and everyday people that Dearly Departed is providing that calm and peace that we saw possible from the very start.

For years, Anka and Jordan (both Hollywood veterans, production partners in their company Zia Films, and a husband and wife team) wondered what it would be like to be able to bring a video camera into the spirit world and share stories of hope and inspiration from the other side. Dearly Departed includes provocative interviews with everyday people of all ages from all walks of life about their experience of dying and life after death.

Once Anka and Jordan had their concept, script and the support of investors, they quickly realized that, while firmly in the indie, low-budget world, Dearly Departed still had 30 sets and over 600 visual effects, including hundreds of glowing auras placed around the spirits. Rather than raising more funds to complete these daunting tasks, Anka and Jordan understood that low-budget filmmaking is all about producing the best film for the funds you have while still maintaining quality and staying true to their original intentions behind the film. And after working on the special effects teams for mega successful films such as Ironman, iRobot, and Pirates of the Carribean 3: At Worlds End, Anka knows how to deliver well made films.

Beyond the fresh perspective and conscious approach of this film, Anka and Jordan were able to attract great on-screen talent and some of Hollywoods best and brightest production crew members due to the heart centered, soulful messages of Dearly Departed. Many of the people who participated on the film, including the various investors, were aligned with Anka and Jordans intention of having people associate death with feelings like comfort, peace and safety, in order to be able to relax and enjoy each and every day of their lives more fully.

The heartchild of Anka and Jordan, Zia Films, is an emerging production company with numerous film and television projects in development. One common tie is that many Zia Films projects are intended to bring more awareness and raise consciousness for the more than seven billion people on planet Earth.

Dearly Departed is now available via Amazon Instant Video service for $ 1.99 for a seven day rental and $ 19.99 to purchase the film. For more information about Dearly Departed, to view a trailer of the film and/or learn more about the team behind this film go to: http://dearlydeparted.ziafilms.com/dd/.

Total running time: 84 Minutes. Screener copies are available by request.

How do we lead a carefree life? Many spend a lifetime pondering over this.

Zhuangzi was an influential Chinese philosopher, and author of classic text Zhuangzi, which consists of a plethora of abstract fables examining the issue of freedom in life. Wanderer-Seeker: A Trek Around My Room relooks at the tales from Zhuangzi and devises a series of quirky pieces, to form a dialogue on the absurdities of urban city life and modern existence.

Enclosed within the hectic bustle of the city, do you find yourself trapped in the never-ending routine of the daily grind, unable to break free? Let us walk into the theatre, bringing with us the philosophical wisdom of Zhuangzi, and go forth in search for the possibility of freedom

Westminster Melbourne Lawyers Buck Industry Trend by Embracing New Technology, Other Firms Lag Behind Tech Curve

0

Melbourne, VIC (PRWEB) August 26, 2013

On 13 August 2013 the online resource for solicitors and attorneys Lawyers Weekly published an article about firms falling behind as technology advances. As the public continue to accept and use new ways of communication and research, Melbourne lawyers who dont adopt the same will lag significantly behind their counterparts. Taking the initiative to stay ahead of the curve, Westminster Lawyers Practice Manager Ms. Michelle Lopez says, Were always looking for fresh ways to better assist, educate and reach out to clients. Nowadays thats via the internet, which is why we encourage our team to have an online presence.

Those in the legal arena focus most of their time on whats transpiring in court rather than whats happening in the online and tech spaces. Leading technology involves a lot of interaction, through social media, web videos, and enhanced website usability. If lawyers dont keep up with the advancing world of technology, they may find themselves quickly outdated and unable to connect with new clients.

Some Melbourne lawyers are bucking this industry trend by incorporating new technologies into their online presence, marketing and communication practices. In order to do so, a firm must be hands-on in picking up new technology trends as well as implement them.

The team at Westminster Lawyers is doing exactly that: being proactive to keep themselves on a leading edge of the tech curve for legal firms. Practice Manager Ms. Lopez comments that while their solicitors keep their attentions focused on client support and cases, My office team can move the firm forward in technology. This year alone weve opened up new channels for clients to learn about us, learn from us, and to connect with us.

Ms. Lopez says of the Melbourne law firms innovative communication approach, What were doing isnt new to the world of technology, but its not used to advantage for our industry. Our clients are plugged in online, either at home or on the run using smart devices, so connecting with them through the same channels is essential. She also says its through their efforts to stay technologically relevant that Westminster can connect and engage with new and existing clients easily.

Whats more, Westminster Lawyers encourage staff to add profiles to the social site LinkedIn, which are then connected back to the companys main website. Its important our legal team have an online presence. The Practice Manager goes on to say that the law firm is planning a re-organisation of the sites knowledg base and blog pages in order to make it more user-friendly. The improvement will help clients find articles that relate to their specific query.

Ms. Lopez further remarks how Westminster has created a series of helpful videos both on the companys website and YouTube Channel. Were knowledgeable and are experts in what we do, so providing basic legal help online via web video made sense to us. Its a great way for clients to understand a particular topic, as well as get to know us.

Along with a recently enhanced website, the videos introduce the firm to viewers and answer common Separation & Divorce and Wills & Estate Planning questions. People know how to find legal information nowadays, says Ms. Lopez, but the results they get might not always be easy to understand. And thats part of our goal with our embracing of new technologies to help more people, faster.

A recent Lawyers Weekly article discussed how legal firms will fall behind, and out of favour, with clients as technology outstrips their old practices. The professional Westminster Lawyers team are beating the industry odds by keeping pace with the tech curve through enhancing their website, teaching through their YouTube Channel and web videos, and encouraging staff to reach out through the social media site LinkedIn. Ms. Lopez closes by saying, Evolving with the times is just one of the many ways we maintain our ability to be one of the most efficient legal teams in Melbourne.

A tribute to all the owls out there

According to certain Native American folklore, the Great Spirit that lives within the Great Mystery gathered all the animals on Mother Earth and said, "I must conceal the Realization, that humans create their own reality, until they are able to comprehend it."

The Buffalo, most sacred of all animals, said, "I will bury it in the great plains."

"No, humans will dig and find it there," replied the Great Spirit.

The Whale, keeper of ancient knowledge, said, "I will carry it to the bottom of the ocean."

"No, humans will go there one day and find it," replied the Great Spirit.

The eagle, close to the heavens where the Great Spirit dwells, said, "I’ll fly it to the moon."

"No, humans will soon go there too and find it," replied the Great Spirit.

The Owl, essence of true wisdom, said, ""Put it inside them."

"Yes," replied the Great Spirit. "It is the last place they will look."

Yourwellness Magazine Investigates Weight Loss Benefits of Meditation

London, UK (PRWEB UK) 10 October 2013

Google is offering its employees meditation and mindfulness courses in order to increase innovation, CNBC reported September 20th. The article, Ommmm! How Silicon Valley values meditation, noted that Google’s Search Inside Yourself course has been taken by more than 1,000 employees and currently has more than 400 on the waiting list, and is geared towards teaching emotion management which could eventually increase productivity and creativity. Programme creator Chade-Meng Tan commented, The first thing it does, it enables you to calm your mind in a crisis. It creates a condition for knowledge and self-mastery. It also creates a condition for empathy and compassion. (http://www.cnbc.com/id/101051478)

This inspired Yourwellness Magazine to look at how the self-mastery that meditation creates can aid weight loss. Yourwellness Magazine asked readers, What do you think of when you picture meditation? Do you see yourself cross-legged and chanting? Are you imagining a spiritual encounter? A lot of people associate meditation with eastern religions and spirituality, when in fact it can be a simple and effective tool for physical wellness, especially when it comes to weight loss. (http://www.yourwellness.com/2012/12/meditate-your-way-to-weight-loss/#sthash.cAd1eP9P.dpuf)

Yourwellness Magazine explained that the mind controls the rest of the body, and so if meditation focuses the mind, the body control will follow. Yourwellness Magazine noted that most weight loss wisdom dictates one should be aware of the bodys relationship to food, and how one reacts to it both physically and emotionally. Meditation raises that awareness. Yourwellness Magazine recommended meditating on wellness goals and weaknesses for five minutes in the morning, as this will put them at the front of the mind for the rest of the day. This helps dieters to stop themselves before making any bad choices, and soon weight loss thoughts will become weight loss habits. Yourwellness Magazine added that dieters should slowly increase the amount of time they spend meditating, as this will increase the focus and patience needed for successful natural weight loss.

Ginger Clark, Ph.D. Gets to Heart of Self-care in New Book

Marina Del Rey, CA (PRWEB) October 14, 2013

Author and psychotherapist Ginger Clark, uses an intimate, personal tone to help readers discover how to deal with stress, anxiety and muscle tension using self-soothing and emotional self-regulation in her practical new nonfiction, Tuck Yourself In: Using Your Senses to Soothe Yourself, Softening Resistance to Self-Care (published by Balboa Press).

In todays fast-paced world, many people have difficulty balancing the demands of work and family and find precious little time for themselves. Using the listening tools patiently and skillfully articulated in Tuck Yourself In can increase somatic awareness as a source of guidance by tapping the wisdom inherent in the bodymind connection to turn humdrum activities into enlivening experiences. Learning to listen to the bodyself voice promotes mind-body health by balancing the intensity of energy-depleting activities with the renewing calm of bodymind connection, Clark notes. Slowing down and shifting to Let Go ..” facilitates what Dr. Daniel Siegel describes as mindsight.

Clark uses her own, sometimes poignant, experiences as examples of exercises and practices which blend Eastern and Western approaches to holistic mind-body health and well-being. Many people are interested in ways to de-stress and get better sleep, she writes. But even more importantly, they need help meeting the challenges of following through on what they know they need to do to take care of themselves when preparing for more restful sleep and addressing addictive activities. Insightful, sometimes surprising ways to meet such resistance with self-compassion are offered and can lead to a lifetime of discovery and awakening.

Praise for Tuck Yourself In:

Learning how to self-soothe, re-center, or tuck yourself in during difficult moments is an important skill that few of us learned to do in an optimal way as we grew up. Dr. Ginger Clark has written a fascinating approach to developing this crucial skill for your moments of discomfort, or to help those you care about.

Identical Twins Kay and Olu Taiwo, Christian Authors, Bring Irrefutable Clarity to the Subject of Vision

0
0

(PRWEB) October 14, 2013

While many books have been written on the subject of vision to the Christian audience, this book brings a freshness and simplicity that rivals most books out there. Written in a very down to earth manner, the principles in this book are relevant to the church world, as well as to those outside its borders.

The twins latest book, The Vision Guided Life: God’s Strategy for Fulfilling Your Destiny has twenty-eight chapters, and is a 148 page must read.

The book also has a “28 Day Group Exercise” which is ideal for Bible study groups, Bible colleges, and leadership training. The 28 Day Group Exercise was developed by the twins to help individuals, home groups, cell groups, and churches begin a month long discussion on vision.

The free standalone 28 day plan is divided into four weeks. This free plan can be downloaded at VisionGuidedLife.com.

This plan is based on seven sections from their book, The Vision Guided Life. Each section has a series of thought provoking questions that help the participants to actively explore this subject with great depth.

For the month of October, the twins have started a 28 Days of Vision campaign on Facebook. You can join them by searching vision guided life on Facebook.

Charles Spurgeon said, Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. To know is not to be wise. Many men know a great deal, and are all the greater fools for it. There is no fool so great a fool as a knowing fool. But to know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom.

The Vision Guided Life is a book of wisdom delivered with refreshing simplicity.

The premise of the book boldly asserts that:

“Your insight determines your future. If your vision is limited, you will accomplish very little with your purpose. Vision is Gods redemptive revelation. Vision applies to the individual, family, business, church and a nation. To lack vision, is to lack a future.”

The well respected leadership expert, John Maxwell once said, Robert Woodruff, who was the President of Coca Cola, from 1923 to 1955, a 32-year span, cast the following vision for Coca Cola. Right after World War II, he said, In my lifetime I want everyone in the world to have tasted Coke.

As the book, The Vision Guided Life points out, vision sees the desired outcome then takes practical steps towards meeting that goal.

The twins emphasize very clearly that the greatest test to determine if a vision is present is to look at the people, not the leader. The people are a reflection of the presence or absence of vision.

Right out of the gate, the book’s introduction does a great job in laying the ground work for what you should expect within its pages. From the concept of “Destiny Zone” to “Pause or Play” you get a window into the twins grasp of the subject of vision. The Destiny Zone is explained diagrammatically as a cycle comprising of vision, identity, and purpose. They contend that when all three are in sync, you are living in the Destiny Zone. Outside of the Destiny Zone a person feels a deep sense of dissatisfaction, low self-esteem, hopelessness, spiritual blindness, and a lack of direction.

Sadly, many Christians haven’t found their God-given Destiny Zone.

Regarding the concept of ‘Pause or Play’, the authors explain that most people are living their lives in a state of perpetual pause, just like a message on CD that is put on pause to attend to a phone call or to someone at the door. Kay and Olu Taiwo say “In the context of life, for many this interruption could last ten seconds or ten years. Some have last played out their purpose decades ago and have been living perpetually in pause mode ever since. Tragic indeed.”

In the introduction of the book, the authors cite a letter they received from a lady in England who had read one of their books on the subject of identity. Below is an excerpt of the letter:

“Your book put all my spiritual anxieties into perspective. Due to the enormous suffering, rejection, condemnation, and ridicule I encountered, I was a little dizzy by what was actually happening to me. But 1 Peter 4:12 explains it, and your book has illuminated everything for me. I can now start to enjoy my walk in the Lord with security and confidence.”

This letter was used to illustrate that our progress in life can be halted by what happens to us, and that it is the insight we receive that enables us to go forward in life.

For the African readers, the authors pose a bold challenge by confronting some of the reasons they believe are responsible for the lack of progress prevalent on the continent of Africa. They believe that there is a drought of visionary leaders in the highest positions of power, and that the culture permits this to persist.

They deal head on with the cultural malady known as “African time”. To illustrate this point, they cite a real life example. In the chapter, Two Standards of Excellence, Kay Taiwo explains, “I remember a humorous event that happened a few years ago. It was eye-opening. My wife and I attended a birthday party for the child of a family friend who happens to be African. She told her American friends to come to the party at 2 pm but told her African friends to come at 12 noon. Everyone arrived at the same time! Understanding how Africans view time, she decided to tell her African friends to arrive much earlier knowing that they would be late.”

In a nutshell, the readers of The Vision Guided Life will discover the following:

i. How to accurately define vision

ii. How to grasp vision for living

iii. How to write and state one’s mission in life

iv. How to dispel misconceptions about vision

v. How to turn thought to application

The Vision Guided Life is divided into seven sections. Below are the section titles:

Section I: The Impact of Vision

Section II: Dispelling Vision Myths

Section III: What You See Is What You Get

Section IV: Accurately Defining Vision

Section V: What Vision Does

Section VI: Getting It Done

Section VII: State Your Lifes Mission

The Vision Guided Life is a must read that makes you feel like you are involved in a friendly conversation.

It is available through all major distributors available online; and it is also available through Barnes & Noble and distributors such as Ingram and NACSCORP.

The book is available through Amazon worldwide as a paperback and as an e-book version for Amazon Kindle. It is also available for the iPad or iPhone via Apple’s iBook store and all other major e-book platforms.
