Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 17, 2013

SoulDancingHealingPractice author and transformational healer Laura Mayer “shows up” at The Brave Heart Women’s Annual Rise Conference (http://www.BraveHeartWomen) to share her story of empowerment along with successful healing tools with those willing to relinquish childhood traumas and dramas that have prevented them from moving forward in the past. Go to http://www.dancingheartdancinghands.com for additional information.

Everything in Laura’s story is true. After suffering with a progressive, degenerative neurological disease for forty years/eighteen surgeries, Laura stepped out of the medical box and opened to the world of spirituality and alternative healing and witnessed complete transformation of mind, body and soul.

She emphasizes that it takes courage to love yourself enough to face traumas and truths long kept hidden, to step into life with grace and gratitude, and to show up, faith first, against all odds. It’s about having the courage and the determination to take back what is rightfully, preciously yours. Then youll be, as Laura Mayer is, unstoppable.

The book, Unlocking the Invisible Child: A Journey from Heartbreak to Bliss, which is available at: DancingHeartDancingHands.com offers the key to releasing old hurts, healing emotional wounds and embracing the child who hides within.

Christine Northrup, MD., New York Times best selling author of Womens Bodies, Womens Wisdom and more, describes Mayers book as a riveting account of what true healing is all about and must-reading for all who seek wholeness.

Unlocking the Invisible Child contains some universal truths which can help us all to achieve our potential to heal our wounds, nourish our lives and induce self healing of body, mind and spirit, advises Bernie Siegel, MD author of Faith, Hope & Healing and A Book of Miracles.

From the medical community comes a wholehearted recommendation to Read this book, says Dr. Mark Belsky, Chief of Hand Surgery at Tufts-New England Medical Center, and be prepared to challenge yourself to a life worth living.

Laura comes straight from her heart. You can feel the voice of her spirit emanating from the depths of her soul. Her experiences come from a childhood where she felt unseen to her clinical career as an accomplished occupational therapist, as a patient who endured more than 18 painful reconstructive surgeries, to her role today as an intuitive healer and sought-after inspirational speaker.

People who have experienced her work agree that she is truly gifted and that her wisdom and compassion are integral components in transformational healing journeys.

Her knowledge in energetic healing allows her to be the conductor of the symphony which is my mind, body and spirit. She orchestrates in such a way that will allow true harmony of my vibrational field, and clear my soul of negative karma. – Maria Lisa Uy, MD., ABIHM

After only one session with Laura, the work gave me the support I needed to literally change the direction and the quality of my life. – Carol Fitzpatrick, seer, spiritual activist and new paradigm community-builder

Ive experienced Lauras work and want to support her in getting others connected. She is gifted. Cut those cords from the past that entangle us! – Helen Celestine, founder of Star Visions, Chappaqua, NY

“How can I ever thank you enough, Laura, for walking alongside me on my journey, for your genuine support and compassion, and for helping me to stay accountable to myself? You have been a lifesaver. – Catherine Sauberan, R.N., Tucson, AZ

Lauras spirit and grace immediately touched my terrified heart. Her support, generosity, wisdom and humor guide me to a deeper knowing and a deeper trust in my ability to transcend from decades of abuse and neglect. – Linda Cooper, Falls Church, VA.

Fitzgerald, Ga. (PRWEB) October 18, 2013

From Erskin D. Slacks comes A Bump In The Road, a valuable book that will rekindle the candles of marriage. In this valuable tool made expressly for families, the author helps married couples strengthen their relationship with God at the center of their lives. Well-organized and well-presented, it is a treasure trove of wisdom and insights distilled from the knowledge and experience of keeping and maintaining a loving and supportive family.

In A Bump In The Road, Slacks guides readers in dealing with married life. He touches on the many aspects of preserving the union of husbands and wives, including adjusting and communicating with ones partner, roles and expectations, sex and intimacy, wealth and health, home and work responsibilities, and the list goes on. Even though Slack focuses on maintaining the relationship of the couple, he also tackles the important roles of parents to their children. In addition, the book is supported by biblical references, highlighting that families must remain Christ-centered, especially in this ultramodern society where divorce rates are steadily increasing.

A must-read book to help reinforce the foundation of marriage and improve marital dynamics, it goads readers to refocus their priorities and keep elements that destroy familial bonds at bay.

About the Author

A son of Ezekiel and Lillie Mae Slacks, Erskin D. Slacks was the 12th of 16 children reared in a small community called Mystic, Ga. While growing up, his family did not have the best life had to offer but they were thankful and content for what they had. As a close-knitted family, they were taught how to look out for the one under them. Living in a large family, they were able to make it through the grace of the almighty God. Their father worked for over 25 years at a lumber company and their mother worked two jobs to help make both ends meet. She worked at a nursing home and a restaurant. Their parents have gone on to be with the Lord.

GreenFields of Geneva Helps Residents Find Joy and Introduction to New Hobbies

(PRWEB) October 17, 2013

It sometimes becomes difficult for seniors to pursue their long time interests and hobbies. When it starts to get challenging to do the things they used to like to do, they sometimes feel like giving up, said Erin McCart, activities coordinator for Willows Assisted Living, Reflections Memory Support and Briarwood Health Care at GreenFields of Geneva. I really enjoy finding ways to bring the joy of doing things they love back into their lives, while also introducing them to new hobbies.

McCart, who began working at GreenFields this summer, said that at one time, she thought shed become a childrens psychologist. After volunteering at retirement communities however, she changed her mind and pursued her Masters degree in gerontology. I learned that I have a passion for the elderly. Theyre a lot of fun; they have challenges, but they have so much to offer, she said. I love learning from their wisdom and experiences.

McCart schedules six or seven programs each day, and while shes always happy when residents bring her ideas and suggestions, she most often surprises them by what she has planned for the day. Simple adaptations and modifications help residents to cook, create art, participate in drumming circles, exercise and cognitive programming and more. Some of the residents have stopped cooking or baking because its difficult for them to manage some of the tasks. McCart finds ways to cut back on steps and substitute utensils to make the process easier and thus more enjoyable.

One of McCarts favorite activities is laughter yoga. Our bodies dont know the difference between real and fake laughter. We can fake our way into being happy, she said. We do different laughter exercises which are silly, but really beneficial. Our bodies release endorphins and other healthy chemicals. Residents come away from class laughing. It helps to relieve pain and stress and just makes you feel great. McCart said that they hold a laughter yoga class on alternating weeks, but really incorporate the practice into every interaction. Theres one resident who greets me every day by saying ho ho ha ha ha. It totally makes my day.

McCart said that helping residents to discover and rediscover engaging activities is rewarding. I go home with a smile on my face. Every day, she said.

Englewood, CO (PRWEB) October 18, 2013

Kent Denver School, a private college preparatory school for grades 6 through 12, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Randal R. Harrington as Head of School, effective July 1, 2014. Harrington, currently the Assistant Head of School at The Blake School, will succeed Todd R.W. Horn, Ed.D., when he retires in June after 17 years of service.

Dr. Harrington has been at Blake a leading independent college preparatory school serving 1,365 students in grades pre-K through 12 in the Minneapolis metropolitan area since 2003. He previously served as a Physics Teacher, Chair of the Science Department, and Curriculum Coordinator.

Dr. Harrington earned a Ph.D. and an M.S. in physics, with a focus on education, from the University of Washington. He also holds a B.S. in physics from the University of Washington and a B.S. in environmental science from Western Washington University.

My wife Kris and I are elated by the opportunity to join the Kent Denver community starting next summer, Dr. Harrington said. Kent Denver School has a well-deserved reputation as one of the top schools in the country with an extraordinary commitment to strong academics and character development. In addition, the school has an authentic commitment to service and enjoys a national reputation for its partnership with Denver Public Schools through Breakthrough Kent Denver. Much of this success is a testament to the leadership of Todd Horn, who is well respected in the independent school world for his work with other school leaders and his principled approach to school leadership. The schools exceptionally strong teachers, the newly completed Duncan Center, and the commitment to stay at the forefront of great teaching and learning were all factors in our decision to join the community. We look forward to connecting with all in the Denver area who share our commitment to education.

Dr. Horn has served as Head of School at Kent Denver since 1997. During his tenure, the school has seen a 346% growth in endowment, a 200% increase in annual fund, a 15% bump in enrollment, and a 120% increase in student diversity. In addition, Dr. Horn has overseen several major construction projects, including a science and technology center, a student center for the arts, a LEED Platinum dining hall, two artificial turf fields, and a track. He also developed and implemented Kent Denvers five core values (Integrity, Respect, Personal Growth, Community, and Wisdom) and annual Ethics Day program.

I am thrilled with the appointment of Dr. Harrington, Dr. Horn said. The combination of his intellect, heart, and character make him an extraordinary leader, and he is a perfect match for Kent Denver School.

Kent Denver School is an independent day school serving 685 students in grades 6 through 12. Kent Denvers forward-looking liberal arts program inspires students to think critically and creatively, to write and speak persuasively, and to deepen their understanding of the world around them. All members of the Kent Denver communitystudents, faculty, staff, parents, and administratorsembrace the schools core values: Integrity, Respect, Personal Growth, Community, and Wisdom.

December Agile Yorkshire Meetup
Event on 2013-12-10 18:30:00

Anual Xmas Lightning Talk Competition

Every year Agile Yorkshire holds its Lightning Talk Competition. It's meant to be a fun evening where those who have come forward can wow the rest of us with ten minutes of insight, wisdom and dazzling presentation style. We keep on trying to improve things and this year we have a fantastic line up with more speakers than ever before and some amazing (and significant) prizes to give away.

The Lightning Talk format is simple. Stand up for ten minutes and talk about pretty much anything that's likely to be of geeky or agile interest to the rest of us. We're going to hand out score cards to everyone and tot up the numbers at the end for a grand prize giving before dashing to the Midnight Bell to unwind.

This year we've had an amazing response to our call for speakers with the resulting final line up potentially top class. To get through the evening efficiently strict time keeping will be enforced. The ten minute limit will be marked with some kind of loud, hopefully gong based, noise. Also audience participation in the form of a countdown, wolf whistling or raucous shouts of "git orf" will doubtless be encouraged!

The registration page will be posted shortly. Please spread the word, mark the date in your diary and bring your collages.

A full list of runners and riders will soon be published.

Connect with peers. Register now.
