Crystal Bowersox
Event on 2014-03-31 20:00:00

Every now and again an artist comes along who truly embodies a unique sound and vision. Crystal Bowersox is that artist. The small town Ohio born singer/songwriter and guitarist whose early performances began in coffeehouses and later Chicago's underground subway circuit, was catapulted to stardom when she captured the hearts of millions as a finalist on Season 9 of American Idol. Earning a slot as the season's runner up, Crystal Bowersox's gentle strength, quiet wisdom, immense emotional depth and angelic voice made a connection with the show's viewers and indeed her debut album outsold that year's Idol winner. With a confidence and rich soulfulness well beyond her years, Crystal made a lasting impression. In 2013 Shanachie Entertainment released Crystal Bowersox's label debut, All That For This.

I was bummed when my dentist wouldn’t give me my first wisdom tooth after extraction, so when I went in for another one, I made sure I asked him to save it for me. I knew he’ll have to drill into the tooth and it will come out in pieces. I thought to myself, I’ll just piece them back together like a puzzle. What I didn’t know was, that the drill bit isn’t exactly small and a good portion of the tooth will be missing after the extraction. At the end, this tooth was in four pieces and a quarter of it (the back side that you don’t see here) was gone! I am glad that I still have some wisdom, even though I don’t have it inside me now, lol.

Portland, Oregon (PRWEB) February 18, 2014

Diane Musho Hamilton, author of Everything is Workable: A Zen Approach to Conflict Resolution, is the featured author at Powell’s Books on Hawthorne on Thursday, February 20. Hamilton is an award winning mediator, master facilitator, and a Zen teacher. She is well known for creatively combining skill in conflict mediation with the practice of meditation. The event is at 7:30 p.m. at Powell’s Books on Hawthorne, 3723 SE Hawthorne Blvd., Portland, Oregon. For more information call (800) 878-7323.

Author Diane Musho Hamilton has thought and written about, taught, and practiced conflict resolution for twenty years. As a professional mediator, and the first Director of the Office of Alternative Dispute Resolution for the Utah Judiciary, she is well known throughout Utah and nationally for working creatively with conflict and facilitating difficult conversations on culture, religion, race and gender relations.

Diane is a pioneer in the application of Ken Wilber’s Integral Theory to the practice of mediation and facilitation. In 2012 she co-founded Integral Facilitator, the first developmentally based training program for facilitation mastery.

In her first book, Everything Is Workable: A Zen Approach to Conflict Resolution (Shambhala Publications), Diane Hamilton distills years of experience into a skill set for engaging and resolving conflict with wisdom and compassion.

Diane, who is a long-time practitioner of meditation, and a Zen priest says, In spite of practicing meditation, mindfulness, or other spiritual disciplines, most people regularly experience conflict in their lives – and have to deal with it. She suggests that for real success in relationships, everyone needs to develop conflict resolution skills and cultivate social intelligence through practice and awareness.

Everything Is Workable: A Zen Approach to Conflict Resolution is an exploration of conflict resolution as an evolving life and spiritual practice.

Everything Is Workable gives readers the tools they need for dynamic, vital, and effective relationships, both personal and professional. Diane Musho Hamilton draws on her years of experience as a professional mediator, Zen practitioner, and student of Ken Wilbers Integral Philosophy to present a spiritual approach to conflict resolution, providing teachings along with practices and exercises that can be applied to any sort of relationship in which conflict is a factor.

Diane Musho Hamilton is the Executive Director and co-founder of Two Arrows Zen, a center for Zen study and practice in Salt Lake City and Torrey, Utah. Diane Hamilton and Associates offers mediation services, facilitation training and individual coaching. Diane leads telecourses, seminars and retreats in Salt Lake City and around the world, helping individuals and groups to develop skills for mature, dynamic, and creative relationships in the workplace, at home, and in communities.

Fearless Vision Project Empowers Individuals With Spiritual Shortcuts for Realizing Career and Life Potential

San Francisco, California (PRWEB) February 18, 2014

Six-time, successful entrepreneur Lynne Leahy announced today the release of a new workbook for her Fearless Vision Project Titled Fearless Vision Project, the workbook combines the compelling tools of visioning, group sharing and spiritual principles to help individuals realize their dreams for both work and life. Leahys spiritual shortcuts are based on her forty years of experience and the spiritual principles of Napoleon Hills classic 1935 book Think and Grow Rich.

Millions of people have bought Hills book and then given up after getting bogged down in Chapter 2, says Leahy. My workbook and program takes Hills work, boils it down to its spiritual essence and makes his powerful tenets of focus, fearlessness and creativity accessible to anyone. With these simple tools, wantrepreneurs can turn their entrepreneurial dreams into a reality.

Leahys workbook and program include three spiritual shortcuts for accomplishing success in all areas of life: visioning, master-mind groups and spiritual principles.

Shortcut #1: Visioning

The Fearless Vision Program uses the proven tool of visioning to get individuals started on the road to success. The workbooks 8-inch by 8-inch format is completely portable so that readers can always have their vision with them.

Slip your workbook into your briefcase or bag and bring it with you wherever you go, advises Leahy. If you are struggling in a job or work that doesnt bring joy and well-being to your life, go on a break, pull out your vision and remind yourself who you are becoming.

Shortcut #2: Accountability (through master-mind groups)

Leahys second spiritual shortcut is the master-mind alliance or group. The workbook includes an easy-to-use agenda and format for forming and running a master-mind group of two to five members.

In his book, Hill characterizes the power of two minds coming together as a third, invisible intangible force, which may be likened to a third mind, explains Leahy. Readers can harness this force in their own groups and fast-track it into all parts of their lives.

Shortcut #3: Spiritual Principles

At each master-mind meeting, Leahy suggests that members read a list of spiritual principles. These eight principals, expressed as first person plural statements, include: We focus, We decide, We give thanks, and We vow, among others.

Fearless Vision Project in Action

For the past six months Leahy has piloted her workbook and program with her own master-mind groups. Current participants in the pilot program are enthusiastic about their experiences with the program.

The Fearless Vision Project has had a huge influence on my life and business. It has strengthened my ability to visualize in detail my future goals and success. The regimen of meeting regularly to share my vision book stopped me from procrastinating and to really begin working towards creating the dream life I always wanted. Hines, widely-recognized California artist

The Fearless Vision Project makes me think “Bigger ” in my vision. The more I think about my business and life, the more ideas come to my mind with reassurance that I can live that “Bigger” vision. Jane Ndungu, California resident originally from a small village in Kenya

From the first day I arrived at our meeting I felt as if I had possibility. I had my first paying job with my own company last month. I see a successful company forming slowly but surely through the positive thoughts of my group and our vision books! Vikki Belardi, founder of Right Size Now, a business for helping people downsize their lives

Attending Wisdom 2.0 Week in San Francisco with many Google, Facebook and other young professionals, I am optimistic to see that spiritual practices clearly define the younger corporate generation. Leahy noted.

Lynne is currently planning to partner with the career development programs of the San Francisco-based Womens Initiative for Self Employment, one of the nations leading microenterprise training programs, and the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities, an experiential training program for post-9/11 veterans. Through these partnerships, Leahy will help women and veterans to realize self-sufficiency and self-support through her programs shortcuts.
